Yasser Arafat

August 4, 1929 - November 11, 2004

On the sad occasion of the death of President Yasser Arafat, Eh Din extends its deepest sympathy and condolences to his family, to the Palestinian people and to all the other peoples fighting for a democratic and progressive world.

We have had the honour of fighting for the same goals over the past few decades, of sharing the just sentiments of the people of Palestine for national self-determination. We are confident that in this time of heavy loss, the Palestinian people will find the strength to maintain their unity and march on in their quest for justice and dignity. We share their pride in their beloved son who gave all he had for their cause; a man who will be remembered by all the oppressed people of the world as someone who provided an example of the route we have to take to achieve salvation.

We pledge that we will continue on the road you have so clearly marked out, to end the darkness that engulfs our world and achieve a world that you fought for, where human beings are treated with the rights and dignity that human beings deserve.
